What is a Allied Member

An allied member of the NYSE is an owner director or 5% owner of an NYSE member firm. Allied members may not trade on the floor.

An allied member firms are allowed to have wire access to the floor of the NYSE but are not allow to have a floor broker representing the firm standing in the trading crowd.
