Good til cancel or a GTC order is an order that remains on the books until it is executed or cancelled.
Applying "Good Til Cancel (GTC)" to Securities Exams:
Unless otherwise specified all orders entered in the market are day orders. Day orders a canceled at the end of the day if they are not executed. Good til cancel orders will remain open on the books until they are executed or canceled by the investor so long as they are properly renewed.
